MEMBERSHIP & BORROWING GUIDELINES

How to Become a Library Borrower

Challenger TAFE Students Bring proof of current enrolment at the college to any library loans desk.
Challenger TAFE Staff Bring proof of current employment at the college to any library loans desk.
Students from other TAFE Colleges, Edith Cowan University & Murdoch Universities May apply for reciprocal borrowing rights.
Reciprocal borrowing Reciprocal borrowing rights are available at all other WA TAFE colleges, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University. Click here for details
Community members Community members are welcome at Challenger TAFE libraries. The membership fee is $44 per year ($22 per semester) which entitles you to restricted borrowing, but not internet use. Click here for details.

 
Borrowing From the Library

Fremantle (Beaconsfield), Maritime and Murdoch Campus

Number of items may be borrowed:

A total of five items may be borrowed

 

  

  • Books: two weeks
  • Equipment: one day
  • Journals: two weeks
  • Reference: weekend loan only
  • Closed Reserve: 2 hours or overnight
  • Text Books: one day
  • Videos: one or seven days

We can extend the loan period on books, journals and videos if not required by another borrower. Please contact the library for more details.

Community:

 

A maximum of two items may be borrowed at any one time. Loan periods are the same as for students borrowing from the Grosvenor Street Library.
Reciprocal A maximum of two items may be borrowed at any one time. Loan periods are the same as for students borrowing from the Grosvenor Street Library.

 

Peel Campus

Number of items may be borrowed:

A total of five items may be borrowed

  

  • Books: two weeks
  • Journals: two weeks
  • Reference: not for loan
  • Reserve: not for loan
  • Text Books: not for Loan
  • Videos: one week

One optional renewal for books and journals unless the items have been recalled or reserved. Overnight loan for some videos.

 

Rockingham Campus

Number of items may be borrowed:

A total of eight items may be borrowed

 

  • Books: four weeks
  • Journals: two weeks
  • Reference: not for loan
  • Reserve: not for loan
  • Videos: one week

Two optional renewals for books unless the items have been recalled or reserved. Limit of two videos per borrower.

Use the Murdoch University Library Catalogue to see what resources are available at Peel and Rockingham campuses.

Note: Your library card must be presented when borrowing materials or using library services.

Access Your Borrower Record

Borrowers may access their own borrower record to view loans and reservations. This requires a library barcode number to gain access.
