At Challenger TAFE we aim to provide training that gives students skills that closely match those needed in their future workplace. That is why we have a number of dynamic specialised training venues known as ‘live works’. These specialised training venues offer students hands-on and industry-relevant opportunities beyond traditional learning avenues, in an actual learning environment, with actual customers.
And the customers patronising the venues benefit too: with quality services and products that are often offered at reduced prices.

Visage Hairdressing Salon
Offering a full-range of hairdressing services, including cuts, colour and hair treatments.
Our students are using the latest techniques and equipment and work under supervision of expert hairdressers/educators.
The Visage Hairdressing Salon is on our Beaconsfield Campus (15 Grosvenor Street).

Quinlan’s Café on High
The café is run by commercial cookery and hospitality students and is open for lunch (12pm to 2pm) from Monday to Friday.
You’ll find Quinlan’s Café on 15 High Street in Fremantle, on the corner of High Street and Mouat Street. No bookings required. Call 9433 2588 for more information.
Quinlan’s Training Restaurant
Quinlan’s Restaurant offers a fine-dining experience, delivered by commercial cookery and hospitality students.
The Restaurant won the inaugural Gold Plate Award 2004, and again in 2007, for Best Restaurant within a Training Establishment and was a finalist in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
Quinlan’s Restaurant is open for lunch from Tuesday to Friday (11.30am-2.30pm) and for dinner from Tuesday to Thursday (6.30pm – 9.30pm).
Quinlan’s Restaurant is on our Beaconsfield Campus, 15 Grosvenor Street.

There is also a Quinlan's Restaurant at our Peel campus. Also known locally as 'Wild Rose', this training restaurant is open for dinner on Wednesday and Thursday nights (6.30pm - 9.30pm).

Challenger K9 - Day care and day spa for dogs
Every Monday and Tuesday we now offer professional 'day care' for dogs that is designed to give dogs a special day out.

We also have a grooming salon and day spa for dogs where students, under supervision of qualified staff, offer grooming, clipping and hydrobathing services.

Visage Fashion Studio
Visage Fashion Studio is the training venue for part of the Applied Fashion Design and Technology course. It also hosts Designer Fashion sales, which include items from many of the local fashion labels.
Located in the west-end of Fremantle, Visage Fashion Studio has excellent working-relationships with many of the local fashion labels that this area is renowned for.
The Visage Fashion Studio is located on 7 Phillimore Street in Fremantle, on the corner of Cliff Street.

Plant Nursery
Several times a year the Murdoch Campus opens its doors to the general public for plant sales. The plant sales generally coincide with special events such as Mothers Day and seasonal callings such as Autumn and Spring.
During the sale a large range of products, including herbs, natives and potting mix, is available at very competitive prices. All plants are nurtured and grown by the students.

Retail Floristry
Floristry students at Murdoch are trained by award winning floristry professionals. As a results the students have access to first class training resulting in first class designs. Many students have gone on to win national titles and set up successful businesses.
There are now opportunities for the public to enjoy the students creativity through special events that are held throughout the year. In conjunction with nursery sales, the floristry team will provide stunning floral designs for purchase.
Other events such as Daffodil Day; Mothers Day; Christmas; corporate events and special requests are also catered for.
